US President Donald Trump has threatened to sue comedian Trevor Noah after he joked about Trump and Jeffrey Epstein at the Grammy Awards.
Hosting the event, Noah said: Song of the Year - that is a Grammy that every artist wants almost as much as Trump wants Greenland, which makes sense because Epstein's island is gone, he needs a new one to hang out with Bill Clinton.
Trump is known to have been an associate of Epstein for years but insists he had no knowledge of Epstein's crimes and claims they fell out around 2004. There are no suggestions Trump ever visited Epstein's private island, and he has not faced accusations from Epstein's victims; the US Justice Department described allegations against him as unfounded and false.
In a statement, Trump responded to Noah's joke, stating, Noah said, INCORRECTLY about me, that Donald Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on Epstein Island. WRONG!!!
He continued on Truth Social, claiming, I can't speak for Bill, but I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close, and until tonight's false and defamatory statement, have never been accused of being there, not even by the Fake News Media. Trump labeled Noah a total loser and warned him to get his facts straight.
Trump further stated, Get ready Noah, I'm going to have some fun with you!
Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in jail in 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking, years after being convicted of soliciting prostitution from a minor. Trump has been involved in legal battles with various media organizations, including lawsuits related to defamation claims.
Trevor Noah, the South African-born comedian and former host of The Daily Show, is no stranger to controversy, often attracting responses from public figures through his satirical commentary.
