GLEN BURNIE, Md. — In a troubling incident early Wednesday morning, federal immigration agents discharged their firearms during an enforcement action on a moving vehicle in Glen Burnie, resulting in injuries to two individuals. Local officials reported that both individuals sustained injuries that were not life-threatening and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

According to spokespeople from the Anne Arundel County Police Department, the shooting occurred shortly after 10:50 a.m. when the officers responded to reports of gunfire involving ICE agents. Authorities confirmed that only members of Immigration and Customs Enforcement were engaged in the shooting incident.

Preliminary investigations revealed that agents had approached a white van during their operation. In a sudden turn of events, the vehicle allegedly attempted to accelerate towards the agents, prompting them to fire their weapons. The van ultimately came to a halt in a wooded area shortly afterward.

As the investigation develops, authorities have not yet disclosed the identities of the two injured individuals. The Anne Arundel Police Department has initiated a separate investigation into the shooting, while the FBI has taken on the investigation into the prior alleged assault on the immigration agents. Additionally, ICE has commenced its own internal review of the incident.
