LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A city reels from tragedy as a UPS plane crash last week took the lives of 14 individuals. The heartbreaking losses include families and community members, as officials disclosed the names of those affected on Wednesday.

With feelings of sorrow, Mayor Craig Greenberg stated at a press conference, Our city feels the full weight of this unimaginable tragedy. Behind every one of these names is a circle of family, friends, stories that will forever be unfinished.”

Authorities have confirmed that all victims were located and have started notifying their families. The coroner's office worked tirelessly, under incredibly challenging conditions, to recover and identify the victims,” Greenberg mentioned.

Among the deceased were three pilots who were on board when the plane crashed during takeoff from UPS Worldport at Muhammad Ali International Airport.

The community is mourning the loss of individuals like John Spray, who was killed at a recycling business during the crash, and 3-year-old Kimberly Asa, who perished alongside her grandfather, Louisnes Fedon. A GoFundMe campaign was created to support the families affected by this tragic event.

“She was a great person. Everybody loved her. I miss her so much,” Eric Richardson expressed grief over the loss of his partner, Ella Petty Whorton, who was also killed in the crash.

As investigation teams from the National Transportation Safety Board continue their work at the crash site, the emotional impacts of this tragedy are being felt throughout the community.
