A makeshift shrine of flowers and condolence cards has appeared outside the Brown University building where a gunman killed two students and wounded nine others, as the Ivy League school and surrounding community attempt to process the tragedy.
Investigation into the incident is ongoing, with authorities pursuing leads on the suspect who remains at large following Saturday’s shooting. The victims, MukhammadAziz Umurzokov and Ella Cook, have been remembered by friends, former pastors, and teachers.
University President Christina Paxson expressed the community's sorrow, stating, 'Both were brilliant and beloved — as members of our campus community, but even more by their friends and families.' Students and faculty have begun planning tributes, including an online interfaith prayer service scheduled for Wednesday.

Ella Cook
The 19-year-old sophomore was an accomplished pianist studying at Brown and actively involved in her community, known for her generosity and encouragement to others. A service for her has been scheduled, while members of the Brown College Republicans expressed their grief over her loss.
