A partnership in California has been charged with attacking a group of at least fourteen children born through surrogacy, of whom some are as young as two months.
The Los Angeles District Attorney called the family’s estate a “House of Horrors,” claiming the environment was unsafe for the infants and toddlers.
Both defendants entered a not‑guilty plea at a Pasadena courthouse, as reported by CBS News. They face a series of allegations that include physical assaults and possible interference with a witness who could help with the investigation.
Officials say the children were kept in conditions that triggered concerns about neglect and abuse. The allegations have drawn attention to the increasing regulatory demands on surrogate arrangements across the state.
Investigations continue and authorities remain keen on protecting the children involved while transparency about the case expands in public forums.
