In brief
Cindy Crawford has announced that her son Presley Gerber has died at age 27, describing the loss as 'beyond heartbroken' and praising his kindness. The 27‑year‑old died on 20 September in a California rehabilitation facility and police are treating the death as a suspected overdose. Presley had begun his own modelling career in 2023, walking for Moschino at age 16. Crawford's Instagram tribute says she feels blessed to have had Presley and thanks supporters for their love. Police investigations find no signs of foul play, and his sister Kaia has shared a heartfelt video and letter in memory of the brother.
Supermodel Cindy Crawford has said she and her family are "beyond heartbroken" over the death of her son Presley Gerber.
"He is a sweet, beautiful soul who loved and is loved, now and forever," she posted on Instagram next to a black‑and‑white photo of him. "We are so proud of how he showed up in the world, with kindness and vulnerability."
Presley, 27, died on 20 September at a rehabilitation facility in California. Police say officials are investigating his death as a suspected overdose and have found no indication of foul play.
Like his mother and younger sister Kaia, Presley pursued a career in modelling, making a catwalk debut for Italian label Moschino at just 16. He also posted regularly about his mental health on Instagram under the banner of "Mental Health Mondays."
Crawford posted, "We feel so blessed to have had Presley in our lives for 27 years." She added, "We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support from many who know and love our family, and from strangers who feel our pain."
"Til we meet again our sweet boy. We love you forever, Mom, Dad and Kaia," she wrote, ending with an angel‑wing emoji.
The tribute listed the dates of his birth and death. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has listed Gerber’s case as pending additional investigation.
Kaia memorialised him with a video of the siblings dancing as children, a photo by the ocean, and a four‑page letter speaking of her love and grief. She wrote, "I’m learning how to love you when I cannot see you."
