Stars turn out for final Armani fashion show in Milan

Milan was electric as stars like Cate Blanchett, Glenn Close, and Richard Gere gathered for the Giorgio Armani Spring/Summer 2026 fashion show, marking the last collection crafted by the renowned designer before he passed away. Originally created to celebrate 50 years of Armani's fashion empire, the night transformed into a poignant tribute following his death at 91.

Hosted at the Pinacoteca di Brera art gallery, the event featured over 120 of Armani's iconic designs on display. Models gracing the runway, many of whom had worked with the designer for decades, presented a stunning mix of classic looks with an air of nostalgia.

The spring/summer collection, inspired by the landscapes of northern Italy and the serene Pantelleria island, showcased a palette that echoed nature's earth and water. Paper lanterns, reminiscent of those seen during public viewings of Armani, adorned the courtyard as models sashayed down the portico.

Cate Blanchett shared, This moment, this atmosphere speaks for itself. There's a lot of memories here tonight, capturing the heartfelt sentiment among attendees. The event concluded with the final dress—a glittering gown featuring a subtle image of Armani's face—that received an overwhelming standing ovation.

The night was made even more special with live music from Italian composer Ludovico Einaudi, encapsulating the evening's emotional essence. With high-profile guests such as outgoing Vogue editor Anna Wintour and actors like Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci (who were in town for the filming of a sequel to The Devil Wears Prada), Milan celebrated not just a designer but a legacy.
