Celsius Energy Drink Recall: Consumers Warned of Vodka Mix-Up

USFDA issues alert after faulty packaging leads to vodka-filled Celsius cans.

The US Food and Drug Administration has warned consumers about a packaging error that resulted in some Celsius energy drink cans being filled with vodka instead of the intended product, prompting a recall.

US authorities have alerted consumers about a troubling mix-up involving Celsius energy drinks, particularly the Astro Vibe Blue Razz edition, which were mistakenly filled with vodka. The US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) issued this warning after discovering that an associated packaging supplier mistakenly supplied empty Celsius cans to the vodka seltzer brand High Noon, which subsequently filled these cans with alcohol.

To address this issue, High Noon is recalling several Beach Variety packs produced from the same production line. Although no health incidents have been reported associated with these products thus far, the USFDA emphasizes caution for consumers. The recall specifically concerns two production lots, details of which have been published on the USFDA's website.

These products were distributed to retailers across various states including Florida, New York, Ohio, South Carolina, Virginia, and Wisconsin between July 21 and July 23. The special High Noon packs involved in the recall bear the retail code UPC 085000040065, along with the following lot codes:

L CCC 17JL25 14:00 to L CCC 17JL25 23:59
L CCC 18JL25 00:00 to L CCC 18JL25 03:00

For the Celsius energy drinks, consumers should look for the retail code UPC 8 89392 00134 1 and the following lot codes:

L CCB 02JL25 2:55 to L CCB 02JL25 3:11

These lot codes can be found lasered at the bottom of the cans. The USFDA strongly advises consumers to refrain from drinking the affected Celsius energy drink and suggests proper disposal of any cans carrying the mentioned lot codes. However, other High Noon Beach Variety packs not included in this recall remain safe for consumption.
