NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Country music star Morgan Wallen found himself in hot water after police footage revealed his denials of throwing a chair off a Nashville bar roof. Following his arrest in April 2024 for reckless endangerment, Wallen openly expressed regret about his actions on social media, ultimately pleading guilty to two counts in December.

The footage, released by the Metro Nashville Police Department in response to an open records request, showcases Wallen's interactions with officers post-arrest. Despite the police accusing him of throwing the chair, which landed dangerously close to officers, Wallen and his bodyguard insisted there were no witnesses to the incident.

As depicted in the footage, Wallen remarked, I don't know why turmoil ensued, while law enforcement was busy trying to determine the events depicted in their security footage. At one point, Wallen was also noted to have called fellow country artist Eric Church amidst the chaos, highlighting his discontent with the situation.

Eventually, Wallen faced consequences as he was charged with three felony counts relating to reckless endangerment—an act resulting in public outrage and commentary from fans in the nightlife-hub of Nashville.

Ultimately, after extensive hearings, his guilty plea resulted in a seven-day stint in a DUI education center, as well as two years of supervised probation, providing him the potential to have the charges dismissed upon completion of the terms.

This latest controversy adds to Wallen's tumultuous career history, which has seen multiple ups and downs, from public intoxication charges to the incident involving racial slurs that have led to widespread scrutiny and impacts on his awards nominations. His recent arrest only serves to amplify ongoing conversations about celebrity accountability in today's media-driven world.
