US President Donald Trump has said he is holding off a military attack on Iran planned for Tuesday at the request of Gulf states as serious negotiations are now taking place.

In a post on Truth Social, he said he had been asked to do so by the leaders of Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

He stated that a deal would be very acceptable to the US, adding there would be NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS FOR IRAN! However, he warned that the US would be ready to go forward with a full, large scale assault of Iran, on a moment's notice if no acceptable deal was reached.

A senior Iranian military commander cautioned the US against making strategic mistakes and miscalculations again.

Trump's announcement comes amid a decline in his approval ratings, with recent polls indicating that 64% of voters consider the decision to go to war with Iran as a mistake. Currently, only 37% approve of Trump's performance, reflecting growing public frustration over the war and various domestic issues.

Despite the potential for negotiations, tensions remain high, with major airstrikes on Iran already undertaken and Iran retaining substantial military capabilities, ready to retaliate if provoked.

Trump remarked, We’ve had periods where we thought we were close to making a deal but it didn’t work out, emphasizing that this time, there appears to be a very good chance of reaching an agreement. The situation remains fluid, and should this opportunity fail, military options could soon be back on the table.
