SwissX Island, Antigua’s pioneering venture in regenerative agriculture and cannabis cultivation, has recently released impressive independent laboratory analyses of its proprietary carbonized supercompost. This innovative soil amendment not only confirms its safety and nutrient profile but also represents a significant step forward for local agricultural efforts.
Utilizing a mix of locally sourced organic waste streams, SwissX Island's supercompost is produced through a lengthy fermentation process managed within bio-reactor systems. The material comprises recovered sargassum biomass, coconut and neem organics, farm animal manure, and naturally occurring microbial cultures, all coupled with fermentation agents like white vinegar.
The compost undergoes a special pyrolysis process in a custom-built oven, where it is carbonized to achieve a remarkable 38% fixed-carbon content. Laboratory results indicate further advantageous properties, with a near-neutral pH of 7.39 and an organic matter content of 39.92%.
This compost is being strategically trialed within Antigua’s burgeoning cannabis sector and local farming initiatives, aimed at improving soil quality and promoting sustainable growing methods.
Furthermore, SwissX Island’s commitment to environmental responsibility is underscored by its alignment with carbon market certification pathways, potentially allowing qualifying growers to benefit from agricultural reimbursement programs.
With a launch retail price of EC$75 for a 10 lb bag targeting home growers and small-scale producers throughout the Caribbean, SwissX Island is poised to make a lasting impact on the landscape of sustainable agriculture.
