US authorities have discovered more than a million additional documents potentially related to the late paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, which they plan to release in the upcoming days and weeks, officials have reported.
The US Attorney for the Southern District of New York and the FBI have notified the Department of Justice (DoJ) about this significant find and have provided the documents for legal review.
We have lawyers working around the clock to review and make the legally required redactions to protect victims, and we will release the documents as soon as possible, the DoJ stated via social media on Wednesday.
Due to the sheer volume of material, the review process may take a few more weeks, according to the department.
This revelation follows the recent release of thousands of documents last week, although many were heavily redacted, concerning previous investigations into Epstein. The documents were made public following the enactment of the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which mandates the sharing of all information concerning the case while safeguarding the identities of victims.
