RYE, N.Y. (Flux Daily News) — Jeanine Pirro, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, has launched a $250,000 negligence lawsuit against her hometown and a power utility after sustaining injuries from a fall. The incident occurred on August 28 in Rye, NY, when Pirro reportedly tripped over a large wooden block that was protruding from a steel plate used to cover excavation work.
Pirro asserts that the negligence of both the city and Consolidated Edison caused her to suffer significant personal injuries. According to her complaint, she experienced bruises and contusions to her head, face, and shoulder, in addition to ongoing pain and discomfort that required medical attention.
The former Fox News host has stated that she was bedridden after the incident and continues to deal with the consequences of her injuries. As the lawsuit unfolds, attorneys for both the city of Rye and Consolidated Edison have requested a dismissal based on the argument that the blockage was not in a pedestrian area and that the risk was apparent.
Representatives for all parties involved have declined comment on the litigation as its proceedings continue.
