Garage Finds Reveal Chrissy Amphlett's Lost Tracks

Three songs recorded by the late Divinyls frontwoman in 1998 were unearthed in a garage, offering fans a new glimpse into her legacy.

The tracks – recorded with Tim Finn of Split Enz – had been presumed lost, but were recovered on a tidy two‑inch tape that survived untouched. An EP titled Some Times will drop Friday, featuring the trio of songs.

The session, held in Sydney, occurred after Amphlett’s split with bandmate Mark McEntee and during a budding friendship with drummer Charley Drayton, who later became her husband. Tim Finn reflects on the collaboration as a moment of “great talent, great charisma” that was finally realized after more than two decades.

The discovery renews interest in Amphlett’s contribution to Australian rock, reminding listeners of her powerful voice and stage presence that defined hits like “I Touch Myself” and “Boys in Town.”
