Swedish authorities continue their investigation into the motives behind the country’s deadliest mass shooting that occurred in Orebro on Tuesday, claiming eleven lives, including that of the gunman. The suspect, identified as a 35-year-old named Rickard Andersson, was reportedly a former student of the Risbergska adult educational centre where the horrific attack transpired, situated about 157 km (98 miles) west of Stockholm.

Eleven were confirmed dead, with at least six others injured, leading to national mourning as King Carl XVI Gustaf expressed solidarity with those affected, stating: "All of Sweden is mourning." While there are no details yet about the dead or injured, local health officials indicated that three women and two men remain critically injured.

Authorities have withheld the suspect's identity until further investigation, although it has been reported that he most likely took his own life following an encounter with police. The motive for the attack remains under investigation, with local police noting there do not appear to be any gang affiliations or ideological motivations behind Andersson’s actions.
