Tragic Discovery: Five Skiers Found Deceased Near Zermatt Resort

In a heart-wrenching incident, the lifeless bodies of five skiers were located by rescue teams in close proximity to the upscale Zermatt resort in Switzerland. Emergency services were first alerted when a group of climbers scaling the Rimpfischhorn peak, standing at 4,199 meters, came across several abandoned skis near the mountain's apex.

Subsequent aerial and ground searches conducted by local authorities led to the grim finding of the skiers' bodies scattered across the Adler Glacier. The deceased were discovered at different elevations on the avalanche debris, with all sites situated in treacherous high-altitude territories adjacent to the Swiss-Italian frontier.

Rescue service Air Zermatt reported that three victims were discovered clustered together, while the other two were found at a higher elevation on a precarious stretch of snow. A fifth pair of skis was later uncovered, confirming that all victims had ventured into the slopes as a cohesive group.
