Allegations Surface Against Crown Princess’s Son: Marius Borg Høiby Under Investigation
Norwegian authorities launch an investigation into serious allegations against Marius Borg Høiby, the son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit.
The son of Norway's Crown Princess Mette-Marit, Marius Borg Høiby, has been implicated in a troubling investigation involving severe allegations, including three counts of rape. This development was formally announced by police on Friday, as authorities continue to scrutinize the 28-year-old, who is the stepson of the country's future king. Høiby was arrested on three occasions in 2024—spanning August, September, and November—prompting a comprehensive 10-month investigation now being referred to prosecutors for potential charges.
Høiby’s attorney, Petar Sekulic, emphasized that while his client takes the accusations seriously, he disputes most of them, particularly those relating to sexual abuse and violence. Arrested initially on August 4, Høiby has been under police investigation, which included extensive witness interviews, multiple searches, and the analysis of digital evidence.
The Oslo Police District confirmed during the investigation that Høiby faced various accusations, including four counts of sexually offensive behavior, one count of abuse in a close relationship, and two counts of bodily harm. Due to limitations and evidentiary challenges, some sexual offence cases have reportedly been dismissed. Mr. Kruszewski, a police attorney, stated that the number of alleged victims is in the double digits, although he did not disclose further specifics. The Royal House of Norway has stated that the legal proceedings are ongoing and refrained from commenting further.
