Born in Horlivka, a city that has been under Russian occupation since 2014, Sargsyan was recognized for his instrumental role in establishing and leading a special forces battalion. Ivan Prikhodko, the mayor of Horlivka, highlighted Sargsyan's legacy in a Telegram post, commending his achievements in the context of the conflict.
