In brief

Saudi Aramco’s adjusted net income climbed 9 % year‑on‑year to $31.2 billion for the third quarter of 2026, while cash flow and free cash flow also rose. The company declared a $21.9 billion base dividend and underscored strong downstream earnings, on‑time upstream development, and a new 49 % stake in the AI firm HUMAIN. CEO Amin Nasser emphasized operational resilience amid geopolitical uncertainty and the company’s flexible supply network.

On November 3, Saudi Aramco released its third‑quarter 2026 financial statements, announcing that adjusted net income rose 9 % from $28.6 billion to $31.2 billion, in addition to several operational milestones across upstream, downstream and technology arenas.

Adjusted net income climbed to $31.2 billion, up 9 % year‑on‑year, while operating cash flow jumped to $38.7 billion from $36.1 billion, and free cash flow increased to $28.2 billion from $23.6 billion. Downstream adjusted earnings before interest and taxes surged 234 % year‑on‑year, largely driven by higher refining margins. The company highlighted its streamlined operational performance and resilience as key contributors to the gains.

The Board of Directors declared a $21.9 billion base dividend for the quarter, a 3.5 % rise year‑on‑year, which will be paid in the fourth quarter. The dividend upgrade underscores Aramco’s confidence in its cash‑generating capability and its commitment to returning value to shareholders.

Upstream activity gained momentum with the start of production at the Zuluf crude oil increment. Other major projects—including Jafurah phase two, the Fadhili Gas Plant expansion, and the Dammam field development—remain on schedule. Aramco also noted that the East‑West Pipeline continues to provide export flexibility, and it is exploring additional overseas storage capacity and alternative export routes to strengthen its global supply network.

Downstream operations have seen a strong 234 % rise in EBIT, reflecting higher refining margins and continuing improvement in operational efficiency. The company emphasized that the East‑West Pipeline and its export flexibility remain integral to maintaining supply stability amid market pressures.

Aramco completed the acquisition of a 49 % stake in the artificial‑intelligence firm HUMAIN. This transaction involved transferring assets and approximately $2.6 billion in cash contributions. In addition, the company signed a shareholders’ agreement to form a joint venture for mineral exploration and hard‑rock mining, further expanding its portfolio beyond hydrocarbons.

Aramco President and CEO Amin Nasser repeated the company’s focus on resilience amid regional challenges. He said the dedication of Aramco’s workforce, its operational excellence, and the strength of its supply network enabled it to continue delivering reliable energy to customers.

"Backed by our strong balance sheet, we remain focused on the disciplined execution of priority projects, and on leveraging advanced technologies to enhance performance and unlock new opportunities," Nasser said.

"Operational flexibility and the supply network had enabled us to continue meeting customer demand," the CEO added in a separate statement.

While these developments illustrate Aramco’s current performance and strategic direction, the company’s statements leave some uncertainties unresolved. Geopolitical tension and attacks on key energy facilities have intensified the pressure on global energy supplies, and how future regional events will influence Aramco’s operations and investment plans remains uncertain beyond the information today. The lingering effect of these security concerns on supply chains and downstream demand is also an area that the company has not yet fully clarified.
