In brief

On October 31, 2026, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment (MBRHE) inked an MoU with Grandiose Supermarket to bring retail services into its residential communities. The arrangement, aimed at improving convenience and supporting sustainable development, remains in the planning stage regarding specific services and rollout timing.

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment (MBRHE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Grandiose Supermarket on Thursday, 31 October 2026, at MBRHE headquarters in Dubai. The agreement, announced by MBRHE’s CEO Mohammed Hassan Al Shehhi and Grandiose’s CFO Ahmed Aboud, sets a framework for the supermarket to provide retail goods and essential supplies to MBRHE residents.

The MoU, executed on behalf of MBRHE by Assistant CEO Noura Mohammed Al Rumaithi, emphasizes partnership across the public‑private sector. It is intended to enable residents to access daily necessities within close proximity to their homes, thereby improving quality of life and supporting the Housing Establishment’s sustainability goals.

In his remarks, Al Rumaithi highlighted that the collaboration aims “to assess residents’ needs and build partnerships that contribute to improving the services available to them.” He also noted the agreement would enable MBRHE to explore future investment opportunities aligned with its legal framework and the broader sustainable development objectives of the housing sector.

"At the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment, we are committed to strengthening the foundations of integrated residential communities by assessing residents’ needs and building partnerships that contribute to improving the services available to them," said Noura Mohammed Al Rumaithi.

Grandiose’s participation is slated to draw on its retail expertise. While the MoU opens the door for a range of consumer goods and services, the specific items and delivery mechanisms have not been detailed at this time.

MBRHE’s spokesperson emphasized the goal of integrating services seamlessly into its communities. The partnership is positioned as a step toward creating self‑sufficient neighborhoods that align with the emirate’s broader vision for sustainable urban living.

Mr. Ghassan Aboud, Chairman of Ghassan Aboud Holding—which manages Grandiose Supermarket—stated the arrangement allowed the company to extend its footprint into the housing sector. However, no timeline was provided for when the supermarkets would begin operations within MBRHE properties.

According to the MoU, future investment cooperation will be evaluated in accordance with MBRHE’s governing laws and procedures. This includes the potential for additional retail spaces or service integrations, but the scale and scope remain under assessment.

The MoU represents a broader trend of public‑private collaboration in Dubai’s housing sector. Similar agreements have been pursued by other housing bodies to bring essential services closer to residents, yet the precise impact and implementation timeline are yet undetermined.

As of now, the extent of the partnership’s operational rollout, the catalog of goods to be offered, and the schedules for opening retail outlets within MBRHE residential communities remain unresolved according to the statements available. Future reports may shed light on concrete steps and timeframes for residents to benefit directly from Grandiose’s services.
