On 7 November 2026 the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) announced that its economic empowerment program would continue in Deir Al-Balah, Gaza Strip, as part of a broader Saudi campaign to support the brotherly Palestinian people.
Operating in partnership with the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage, the initiative provides digital vocational training designed to equip residents with marketable skills amid the harsh conditions of displacement and ongoing crisis.
Program Details
The program is aimed at 1,000 individuals identified as most vulnerable, including persons with disabilities. Training modules cover a range of digital skills—basic computer literacy, graphic design, e‑commerce management, and online customer service—alongside modules on psychological resilience and business planning.
Beneficiaries described the training as enabling them to make productive use of their time and to overcome the hardships of living in temporary shelters. They cited newly acquired skills as a means to provide for their families, drive entrepreneurial projects, and attain self‑reliance.
Community Response
Participants expressed deep gratitude to Saudi Arabia, its leadership and people, and to KSrelief. They said the support had restored hope during a most difficult period, offering more than temporary aid but a sustainable source of livelihood that preserves dignity.
The initiative also includes psychological support and practical experience, helping beneficiaries feel empowered to launch their own businesses while navigating the challenges of living in displacement camps.
KSrelief emphasizes that the program reflects the Kingdom’s steadfast commitment to upholding humanitarian values and mission toward the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
While the program has shown promising early results—more effective skill acquisition and increased self‑reliance—it remains unclear how these gains will influence long‑term resilience or how the training will be sustained amid ongoing instability.
