UK Rapper Yung Filly Acquitted of Rape Claims After Perth Show

British rapper and YouTube star Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, known online as Yung Filly, was found not guilty on several charges stemming from an alleged sexual assault that occurred after a show in the Perth suburb of Hillarys.

The prosecution had accused the 30‑year‑old of sexually penetrating a 20‑year‑old fan in a hotel room and of other offences, including assault causing bodily harm and strangulation. A jury, however, rejected those claims on some counts and could not reach a verdict on three additional charges.

Barrientos remains on bail pending a sentencing hearing scheduled for 21 August. Prosecutors will decide whether to pursue action on the hung convictions, a process that could see a renewed trial or dismissal.

The case has drawn attention to the growing influence of social‑media personalities in the courtroom, especially those who cross over into mainstream entertainment; Yung Filly has previously appeared on Channel 4's celebrity edition of Bake Off and hosted BBC Three shows.
