At least three people have been killed and more than 30 injured in a massive overnight Russian aerial attack on Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky reported.

Zelensky asserted that regions across the country were deliberately targeted to intimidate civilians and destroy essential infrastructure, with reports of a missile directly hitting a residential building.

Ukraine's air force revealed that Russia launched a total of 619 drones and missiles during the attack. In response, Russia's defense ministry claimed the assault utilized precision weapons aimed at military-industrial facilities.

In contrasting claims, Russia reported four fatalities in a Ukrainian drone strike targeting the Samara region, as Kyiv claimed responsibility for striking a significant oil refinery there.

Ukraine's military additionally stated that another Russian oil refinery was damaged in the nearby Saratov region.

President Zelensky shared on social media that the Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Kyiv, Odesa, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were under attack from Russia overnight.

In Dnipro, a direct missile strike hit a residential building, illustrated by footage showing the missile in flight and the aftermath of the impact.

Samara Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev communicated that four individuals had died as a result of enemy drones attacking the region.
