Kyiv Region Drone Strike Claims 27 Lives, Hundreds Evacuated
Twenty‑seven people were killed in an overnight drone attack on the Kyiv region, confirmed by its governor, Tymur Tkachenko.
The strike also injured 42 civilians, four of them children, in the Bucha district, and 381 residents were evacuated. A 14‑year‑old died in a separate attack in Boryspil.
Emergency services were on scene early Saturday, searching buildings and assessing damage. The Ukrainian army reported shooting down 233 Russian UAVs during the night.
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy expressed condolences to victims’ families and released 300 emergency responders into the area, while noting similar strikes hit Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy and Zaporizhzhia.
Ukraine’s defense strategy now centers on counter‑air operations, while Russia continues targeting Russian economic assets in Kyiv.
In addition, Moscow reported attacks on Belgorod and Rostov regions, with seven people wounded in Rostov.
