Singer Chappell Roan has officially left her talent agency, Wasserman, led by Casey Wasserman, whose name was mentioned in the fallout of the Jeffrey Epstein scandal. Announcing her departure, Roan stated that she feels a duty to protect her team and that true change in the music industry requires accountability.

Wasserman faced backlash after flirtatious emails exchanged with Ghislaine Maxwell surfaced in the documentation related to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. While Roan's statement did not directly reference Epstein or these emails, she expressed a belief that artists should not have to defend actions that conflict with their moral values.

She declared, As of today, I am no longer represented by Wasserman, the talent agency led by Casey Wasserman.

This incident has prompted discussions surrounding Wasserman’s role, especially given the calls for him to step down as chairman of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. In light of the situation, Roan's announcement comes after other bands expressed similar sentiments about dissociating from Wasserman.

Wasserman admitted to having corresponded with Maxwell, but he stated that these interactions occurred long before her crimes were revealed and emphasized that he has never had a personal or business relationship with Epstein. He also expressed deep regret regarding the messages that came to light.
