Former Premier League Star Faces Serious Allegations
Former Arsenal footballer Thomas Partey has denied raping two women and sexually assaulting a third woman during a court appearance at Southwark Crown Court. The Ghanaian midfielder pleaded not guilty to five counts of rape and one charge of sexual assault, with the alleged offenses occurring between 2021 and 2022.
The 32-year-old, who recently left Arsenal after his contract ended, heard the charges during a plea hearing. He was charged just four days after departing the Premier League club. Partey is currently playing for Villarreal in Spain and participated in a recent match against Tottenham Hotspur.
His bail conditions allow him to continue playing football, though he must notify the police prior to any international travel and cannot contact the alleged victims. Partey will remain on bail until his trial commences on November 2, 2026.
During the hearing, Partey confirmed his name before his plea. Despite the serious nature of the allegations, he appeared calm and composed. His case has drawn significant media attention given his high profile in the world of football.
