Taylor Swift Denounces Legal Trouble with Lively-Baldoni Case
Pop superstar Taylor Swift responds to court summons over alleged involvement in a Hollywood legal dispute.
Taylor Swift's representatives have firmly refuted the claims linking her to a legal feud between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, describing the move as an attempt to generate "tabloid clickbait." Swift, 35, was summoned to a US court following accusations that she influenced Baldoni to accept re-writes in the screenplay for "It Ends With Us," a film tied to a sexual harassment lawsuit. This controversy arises from Lively's December 2024 lawsuit against Baldoni, alleging harassment and defamation, while Baldoni countersues for civil extortion, defamation, and invasion of privacy.
In statements made by Swift's team, they asserted that she had no role in any casting or creative decisions related to the film, and she did not review any script edits. Lively, 37, and Baldoni, 41, have been embroiled in legal disputes since the summer release of the film, which is based on a Colleen Hoover novel. Baldoni claims he was surprised by the presence of Swift and Lively's husband, Ryan Reynolds, during a contentious script discussion in New York.
Amidst the rising tensions, Lively allegedly likened herself to "Game of Thrones'" Khaleesi in a text to Baldoni, referring to her role as a protector. Swift's name surfaced again when it was reported that she played a role in the audition process for Isabela Ferrer, who portrayed Lively's character as a younger version. However, Swift's representatives reiterated that she merely allowed the use of her song "My Tears Ricochet" in the film and did not engage further in its production. They stated that any push to involve her in the case is merely an attempt to attract public attention and detracts from the legal facts at play.
