Northern Gaza Hospitals Rendered Inoperable Amid Ongoing Conflict
The health ministry reports that all public hospitals in northern Gaza have ceased operations due to Israeli military actions.
All three public hospitals in northern Gaza are now reported to be non-operational, according to the Hamas-run health ministry, as Israeli military actions escalate. The ministry released a statement indicating that the Indonesian hospital in Beit Lahia has come under severe siege, obstructing access for patients, medical personnel, and essential supplies. This facility was reportedly the last remaining public hospital operational in the northern region of Gaza.
The escalation followed Israel's announcement of "Operation Gideon's Chariot" over the weekend, marking a significant increase in aerial strikes across the territory. According to reports, these attacks reflect the most intense wave of violence witnessed in recent months.
In parallel developments, Hamas has proposed the release of nine hostages in exchange for a temporary 60-day ceasefire and the release of Palestinian prisoners, as disclosed by a Palestinian official to the BBC after renewed negotiations.
The health ministry stated on Sunday: "The destruction of Beit Hanoun Hospital and Kamal Adwan Hospital has now resulted in all public hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip becoming inoperative."
