**Hamburg Knife Attack: Updates on Victims and Suspect's Condition**

Police report that victims of a violent incident in Hamburg are in stable condition as investigations continue.

Eighteen individuals were injured in a knife attack at a bustling train station, with authorities focusing on the mental health of the suspect involved.

On Friday night, a knife attack at Hamburg's central train station left 18 individuals injured during the evening rush hour. The local police reported the victims, ranging in age from 19 to 85, are now in stable condition as they recover from their injuries. Among those injured, four—three women and one man—sustained life-threatening wounds and required hospitalization.

An investigation into the incident reveals that the suspect, a 39-year-old woman, displayed signs of mental distress during the attack. Authorities confirmed that she was apprehended promptly by two bystanders shortly after the stabbing commenced. Furthermore, they clarified that she was neither under the influence of drugs nor alcohol at the time of the incident.

As investigations proceed, a judge in Hamburg is set to determine whether the suspect should be admitted to a closed psychiatric facility. The police have ruled out any political motivations for the attack.

Hamburg's central train station, known for being the busiest in Germany with over half a million passengers daily, has also gained a reputation for its safety concerns. In response, city officials implemented a weapons-free zone several years ago, allowing for increased police powers to search individuals and remove potential threats from the vicinity.

This incident raises renewed questions about urban safety and mental health resources as the community seeks healing and resolution.
