MONTICELLO, Utah (Flux Daily) — A pair of tornadoes wreaked havoc in southeastern Utah this past weekend, demolishing multiple homes yet miraculously causing no reported injuries.

The storm, which occurred in San Juan County, produced the tornadoes within a one-hour timeframe, starting just after noon on Saturday. Meteorologist Kris Sanders from the National Weather Service's Grand Junction office reported that the tornadoes' paths likely covered less than 10 miles, but further assessments are still needed to determine their exact tracks and wind speeds.

Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren disclosed on social media that three homes were completely destroyed during the event. The Navajo reservation, one of the largest in the country, stretches across Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah.

While no injuries were recorded, the Navajo Police Department reported that an unknown number of livestock and pets went missing as a result of the storm. Images shared by the police depicted a dramatic tornado and destruction in the area.

According to Sanders, tornadoes are quite rare in this part of Utah, with only two confirmed since 1950, marking this as a significant weather event for the region.
