Four fatalities and 19 injuries were reported following a significant drone assault on the Ukrainian city of Dnipro, according to local authorities. Serhiy Lysak, the regional governor, indicated that over 20 drones were launched, with most intercepted before reaching their targets. Visuals from the scene depict emergency responders battling flames engulfing a restaurant complex and adjacent residential structures, alongside destruction littering the streets.

Throughout the night, air raid sirens could be heard across various regions in Ukraine, including Kyiv, although immediate injury reports were not available from those areas. The Russian military has yet to officially comment on the situation.

In a later video update, President Volodymyr Zelensky criticized Russia for targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, which he stated contradicts a temporary truce agreed in recent diplomatic discussions facilitated by the United States. Conversely, Russian authorities maintain that Ukraine has been aggressive towards its energy facilities as well.

Earlier this week, President Vladimir Putin made a controversial suggestion for Ukraine to come under UN oversight to establish what he termed a more "competent" governance. The Ukrainian administration also labeled these suggestions as "crazy" and an obstruction to evolving ceasefire negotiations supported by U.S. President Donald Trump.

Discussions regarding a limited ceasefire were further complicated on Tuesday, as Russia imposed conditions that raised alarms about their sincerity in reaching a peaceful resolution. French President Emmanuel Macron announced plans for a reassurance force within Ukraine during a summit in Paris, hosted by coalition partners from over 30 nations. Moscow has issued stern warnings against any European troop deployments, labeling them potential targets.

Since Russia initiated its full-scale invasion in February 2022, they have maintained control over approximately 20% of Ukrainian territory.
