In brief

As we set our clocks forward, March brings an invitation to shed winter's hoarding tendencies and welcome the expansion of light and life that spring signifies.

Daylight saving time kicks off tomorrow, heralding an arrival of increased brightness as March unfolds. Each day brings about three extra minutes of daylight, and with the shift of one hour, we not only adjust our clocks but also prepare our homes for the seasonal change ahead. While spring hasn’t fully bloomed yet, the energy of warmer days is unmistakable. This period, I often refer to as "The Great Thaw," is a time when the constraining feelings of winter begin to dissolve. Cozy nights spent by the fire, though cherished, often engender a sense of inward retreat. We wrap ourselves in layers, move swiftly through life, and naturally gravitate to the comforts of home. Yet as daylight stretches, we find ourselves urging to relax and unfasten the tight grips we've maintained.Indeed, the commencement of daylight saving feels like a jubilant embrace of renewal. The past season of ‘standard time’ demanded a structured approach, often curtailing our spontaneity. Now, we collectively breathe a sigh of relief, welcoming the chance to let loose and extend our horizons. Casual meetups and unplanned adventures are suddenly back on the table, and we can bask in the less constrained pace that emerges with brighter days. This seasonal transformation prompts a reflection on our inner selves. Just as nature transitions from winter’s scarcity to spring’s vitality, so too can we reconcile our own readiness to step out and expand. Embracing this enchanting prospect requires us to consider how we may relinquish our reservations, opting instead for boldness and an open heart. As tomorrow signals the increase in daylight, let it also symbolize a shift within us. How can we translate this external brightness into our internal world? How will we resonate with this unofficial emergence into the lighter and freer half of the year? As we embark on this seasonal journey, let us leave behind our winter-cloaked hesitations and open ourselves to the warmth and possibilities ahead.
