Rockstar’s eagerly awaited 26‑minute GTA 6 preview was released on Netflix and streamed on YouTube a few hours later. The montage contains no commentary, simply letting the visuals speak for themselves – massive cityscapes, slick car chases and gritty shoot‑outs that show off the game’s new graphics engine.
A key focus of the preview is the relationship between the twin protagonists, Jason Duval and Lucia Camino. In the form of a Bonnie & Clyde dynamic, the player can switch control between them, and the story can evolve depending on choices – though the developers say players can opt out of the bond if they wish.
The footage also points to the game’s setting: the fictional Floridian state of Leonida, which houses Vice City – a known stand‑in for Miami – as well as sprawling apartment complexes, rooftop bars and underground clubs. The map may be twice the size of GTA 5’s, delivering more than the 200 million copies sold for its predecessor.
The classic GTA tropes – heists, car chases and satire of American culture – remain intact. Rockstar has also added a reputation “honour” system from Red Dead Redemption 2 that will influence interactions with other characters.
The preview deliberately did not include any multiplayer footage, and Rockstar says the game will launch as a single‑player experience. An online mode may arrive later, and the company’s long‑term success will hinge on converting players to a new GTA Online world.
