Two Dead in Toronto Street Festival Shooting


Police in Toronto received reports of an active shooter on St Clair Avenue at approximately 20:12 local time during a salsa festival. Six victims with gunshot wounds were found, and two were pronounced dead at the scene.


Authorities secured the scene and cordoned the area, urging the public to stay away while a large police presence remains on site. The suspect or suspects have not yet been apprehended.


St Clair Avenue, located in midtown Toronto, hosts a variety of shops and restaurants. This July, the avenue was slated to host the 22nd annual Salsa on St Clair Latin festival, featuring live music and dance performances.
