Tragic Shooting Incident in Kyiv Claims Two Lives

A gunman opened fire in Kyiv's Holosiivskyi district, resulting in at least two fatalities and multiple injuries, with hostages taken in a supermarket.

Two people have been killed and several others injured as a person opened fire in Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital's Mayor Vitali Klitschko has said. The incident occurred in the southern Holosiivskyi district, according to Kyiv's police force on Telegram.

Ukraine's Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko later confirmed that individuals had been taken hostage in a supermarket. He reported that the attacker shot at police officers before being killed.

The exact number of victims remains unclear, but Klitschko mentioned that at least ten people had been hospitalized, including a child.
