A military helicopter has crashed in Qatar, killing all seven people on board, authorities in the Gulf state say.
The helicopter went down due to a technical malfunction in Qatar's territorial waters on Sunday, with all bodies recovered.
Among the deceased were four Qatari military personnel, one Turkish serviceman, and two technicians from a Turkish defense company.
The crash occurred during a training exercise, and the cause is currently under investigation.
Turkey maintains a military base in Qatar under a defense agreement signed between the two nations in 2014.
Qatar's interior ministry confirmed that all seven individuals were found dead and expressed its deepest condolences to the victims' families.
Turkey's defense ministry stated that the helicopter was engaged in a training exercise under the Qatar-Turkey Joint Forces Command. The two technicians were affiliated with the Aselsan defense corporation, and Qatari authorities are working to determine the exact cause of the incident.
This tragedy comes amid heightened tensions in the region, as the U.S. and Israel conduct extensive military operations against Iran, which in turn retaliates with attacks against U.S. allies in the Gulf.
