Syria condemns Israeli drone attack near Damascus
The Syrian government said an Israeli strike on the village of Beit Jinn, located southwest of the capital, hit a civilian vehicle and injured several residents. Syria called the raid a violation of its sovereignty and international law.
This is only the second Israeli strike on Syrian territory in the past week. In a statement on X, the Israeli Defence Forces said the target was a terrorist preparing an imminent attack. Israeli officials described the strike as a defensive measure against an immediate threat to its soldiers.
