Three €9 million‑worth paintings recovered from Parma museum after theft

Police in Italy have recovered a trio of paintings that were stolen from the Magnani Rocca Museum in Parma on 22 March. The theft, captured in CCTV footage released by authorities early in the day, involved two masked figures breaching the museum’s security.

The recovered works are by Henri Cézanne, Pierre‑Auguste Renoir and Henri Matisse. Experts estimate the combined value of the three canvases at €9 million ($7.8 million), marking it as one of Italy’s most substantial art heists in recent years.

City police confirmed the paintings were in hand during searches but did not disclose further details. The investigation into the perpetrators and motive remains active.
