Russian officials report that four people, a child among them, were killed in the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk by a Ukrainian drone, and a drone hit an industrial facility in Novy Urengoy, the Arctic city, with no casualties reported.
Both sides have stepped up long‑range strikes while diplomatic channels seek a cease‑fire. President Zelensky urges the world to stop the aggression before it spreads further.
Oleh Kiper, the head of the Odesa regional administration, confirmed the crossing’s closure after the attack left two dead and three injured.
A Moldovan driver sustained injuries, and Prime Minister Vasile Tofan warned that 17 drones struck Moldovan territory in August alone, more than in the entire previous year.
The conflict launched by Russia in February 2022 has led to rising drone activity on both sides and growing tensions across Europe.
