Lizzo Bares Relief After Judge Dismisses Lawsuit Against Production Company
US pop star Lizzo stated she felt “relieved” after a federal judge dismissed most of the allegations filed by her former wardrobe assistant Asha Daniels, who claimed a range of abuse while working for Big Grrrl Big Touring in 2023. The lawsuit, filed in September, reported degradation, forced labor, denial of medical care, sexual and racial harassment. Judge Fernando L Aenlle‑Rocha found no evidence of a hostile workplace or disparate treatment and ruled that the claims were outside the scope of ordinary workplace troubles.
In an Instagram post, Lizzo highlighted her thanks to the legal team and declared she would continue to fight every claim made against her and her businesses.
The judge’s ruling followed an earlier decision that barred Daniels from suing Lizzo as an individual, though Big Grrrl Big Touring Inc remained a defendant. He noted that while the alleged conduct was inappropriate and unprofessional, it did not qualify as a disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
This outcome comes amid other accusations from three former tour dancers, alleged sexual harassment claims that Lizzo’s team has denied, and a separate 2025 case that dismissed fat‑shaming allegations against the singer.
Lizzo’s continued advocacy comes as she shares her intent to spread positivity while remaining steadfast in defending her reputation. The artist signaled that the legal tension will not deter her from engaging supporters and using her platform for light and positivity.
