The Israeli military claims responsibility for its most pronounced airstrike in Yemen, retaliating against consecutive drone and missile assaults from the Houthi movement targeting Israel.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) detailed that multiple aircraft executed a series of bombings on various sites associated with the Houthis’ security and intelligence services and military installations in Yemen's capital, Sanaa.

Responding to the airstrike, the Houthi-run Ministry of Health condemned what it referred to as a brutal crime, asserting that civilian buildings and facilities were targeted, leading to eight casualties.

This incident unfolds just a day after a Houthi drone attack injured 22 individuals, two critically, at the Israeli seaside resort town of Eilat.

The Houthi movement has maintained control over much of north-western Yemen for the past decade following the overthrow of Yemen's internationally recognized government, prompting a prolonged civil war that has seen the group launch attacks on Israel and international maritime vessels.

Since the Houthi escalation commenced in response to the Israeli-Hamas conflict in Gaza, they have persistently struck back at Israeli interests.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) continue to retaliate, conducting multiple airstrikes aimed at neutralizing the threat presented by the Houthi drones and missiles launched into Israel.

Eyewitness accounts from Sanaa reported significant smoke clouds engulfing the city as a result of the airstrikes, which coincidentally began shortly before a public address by Houthi leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi, broadcasted by Al-Masirah TV.

The targeted operations included critical military headquarters and compounds tied to Houthi intelligence and security activities.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz noted on X that the strikes were a response to ongoing patterns of terrorist assaults directed at Israel.

As tensions between Israel and the Houthis escalate, further exchanges of military actions are anticipated in the region.
