The alleged assailant faces three murder charges for the deaths of 6-year-old Bebe King, 7-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe, and 9-year-old Alice da Silva Aguiar, all of whom were participating in a Taylor Swift-themed dance and bracelet-making activity. Additionally, he is charged with the attempted murder of 10 individuals, including eight children and two adults, alongside possession of a knife during the attack on July 29.
Following the stabbings, police conducted a search of Rudakubana’s residence and reportedly uncovered ricin, a highly dangerous poison, and a PDF labeled “Military Studies in the Jihad Against the Tyrants: The Al Qaeda Training Manual.” These findings led to further charges for producing a biological toxin and possessing information that could assist in committing or preparing an act of terrorism.
Despite these findings, authorities have yet to classify the incident as a terrorist act. Serena Kennedy, Merseyside Police Chief Constable, remarked in October that establishing motivation is crucial before labeling the event as terrorism, advising caution against speculative assumptions.
