The killing of two aides at the Israeli Embassy in Washington has been condemned as an act of terror. The alleged shooter, Elias Rodriguez from Chicago, faces charges including first-degree murder following the brutal attack on Wednesday night. Witnesses reported that Rodriguez expressed pro-Palestinian sentiments upon his arrest, chanting “Free, free Palestine.”
According to officials, Rodriguez approached the victims as they exited the Capital Jewish Museum, which was hosting a diplomatic event, before opening fire. Surveillance footage revealed a chilling scene as he shot the couple from behind before continuing to fire while they lay on the ground.
The victims, Yaron Lischinsky, aged 30, and 26-year-old Sarah Milgrim, were dedicated employees of the Israeli Embassy, with plans for a future together. Lischinsky had recently purchased an engagement ring.
