Earrings Valued at $769,500 Recovered After Alleged Thief Swallows Them During Arrest

In an astonishing case, Orlando police have successfully retrieved two pairs of Tiffany & Co. diamond earrings worth a staggering $769,500 that were allegedly swallowed by a thief while being apprehended. The suspect, Jaythan Gilder, 32, was taken into custody on February 26 after being accused of pretending to be an assistant for an NBA player to gain access to exclusive jewelry in the store's VIP section.

After the alleged theft, Gilder attempted to evade capture by swallowing the earrings. He was monitored in an Orlando hospital for over two weeks until the earrings were expelled from his system. The police state that Mr. Gilder's criminal history includes a robbery in Texas and multiple outstanding warrants in Colorado. Following the earrings' recovery, Tiffany's confirmed their authenticity, and Gilder remains in custody facing serious charges.
