The Ferrari F2001, driven by Michael Schumacher during his triumphant 2001 Monaco Grand Prix, has been sold for an impressive 15.98 million euros (£13.43 million) at auction. This transaction, conducted by RM Sotheby's, occurred right before the qualifiers for this year's Monaco Grand Prix. Not only has this sale established the car as the priciest ever associated with Schumacher, but it also ranks as the fourth most valuable Formula One vehicle sold to date. The car played a pivotal role in securing Schumacher's fourth world title in a year where he also triumphed at the Hungarian Grand Prix. Previously, the highest bid for a Schumacher car was recorded at £9.75 million for his F2003 model in 2002. With this significant sale, Ferrari looks to inspire a similar victory, as Charles Leclerc takes his place on the grid for Sunday’s race, positioned second behind McLaren's Lando Norris.
