In a landmark ceremony in Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian formalized a 20-year strategic partnership treaty focused on military cooperation, technology transfer, and energy collaboration. Under the treaty, both countries pledged to consult on military and security concerns while engaging in joint military exercises within their borders and internationally. Notably, Iran has been a supplier of drones and reportedly ballistic missiles to Russia, furthering their military alliance.
President Pezeshkian remarked that this agreement marks the beginning of a new era in Russo-Iranian relations.
