**Gaza Crisis Deepens as Aid Blockade Resumes Amid Ramadan Shortages**

The situation has worsened for residents of Gaza following the recommencement of the Israel blockade and rising food prices during Ramadan.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the people of Gaza found themselves embroiled in yet another crisis, just as they prepared to break their day-long fast during the sacred month of Ramadan. The Zadna Bakery in the heart of Gaza became the focal point of despair, as lines stretched into chaos, with residents desperate for a simple loaf of bread. A lone security guard, overwhelmed by the throngs, shouted fruitlessly against the pushing crowd.

Since the fragile cease-fire between Israel and Hamas began on January 19, a flow of aid had reached the war-torn enclave after a prolonged period of deprivation that had lasted over 15 months. Nevertheless, with the border fully closed since March 2, the situation has reverted to dire straits. Israel's blockade is reportedly intended to pressurize Hamas into agreeing to truce extensions, including demands for the release of hostages.

The return of bread lines and the overcharging by opportunistic vendors indicate the desperation felt by many.
