**Authorities in Argentina unveil charges against key figures linked to the One Direction star's fatal incident**

**Liam Payne's untimely death has sparked an extensive investigation, as three individuals face serious charges amid ongoing tributes from fans and friends.**

Three individuals have been charged following the tragic passing of Liam Payne, a former member of the world-renowned band One Direction, Argentinian officials have confirmed. The 31-year-old singer died on October 16 after falling from the third-floor balcony of a hotel in Buenos Aires, leading to a prompt investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

According to the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor's Office, one person who was with Payne has been charged with neglect leading to death, along with drug provision and facilitation offenses. Additionally, a hotel staff member and another individual have been implicated for their roles in supplying drugs. While the authorities have not disclosed the names of those arrested, the implications of the charges underscore the severity of the incident.

In the days leading up to his death, Argentinian authorities have been closely examining the details of Payne's stay at the CasaSur hotel. The investigation revealed that, upon arrival at the scene post-incident, police discovered various substances in the singer’s hotel room, along with significant damage to the property. Emergency services had received prior calls from hotel staff regarding a guest reportedly under the influence of drugs and alcohol, who was "causing a disturbance."

The public prosecutor's office has reported that toxicology tests revealed traces of alcohol, cocaine, and a prescription antidepressant in Payne's system at the time of his death. A post-mortem examination determined that the cause of death was due to "multiple trauma" and "internal and external haemorrhage" resulting from his fall. The findings further indicated that Payne may have been in a state of semi-consciousness when the tragic accident occurred, leading the prosecutor's office to dismiss the theory of a voluntary act.

As part of their investigation, authorities have conducted nine searches across various residences in Buenos Aires and are analyzing numerous electronic devices, including Payne’s damaged laptop. The judicial inquiry has extended to over 800 hours of security camera footage and has collected testimonies from hotel personnel, family, friends, and medical professionals.

Following the news of Payne’s passing, heartfelt tributes have poured in from across the globe. Members of One Direction, including Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, and Harry Styles, expressed their profound sorrow, noting they will "miss him terribly," and will cherish their shared memories forever. Vigil gatherings have also taken place internationally, where thousands of fans have memorialized the beloved singer, who was also a father to one child.

The late singer's body will be returned to the UK for burial after being released to his family earlier this week. As investigations continue, the music community remains united in their grief and remembrance of a star who left a lasting legacy.
