Witness Testifies to Terrifying Incident Following Assault at Intercontinental Hotel.
During an ongoing sex-trafficking trial in New York, music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs has been accused of using a hammer to attempt a break-in at the home of his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, following a violent encounter at the Intercontinental Hotel in 2016. Security footage related to the incident has been a focal point of the trial, which underscores the severity of the allegations against Combs.
Kerry Morgan, a close friend of Ventura, recounted alarming details during her testimony, stating she witnessed Combs aggressively banging on the door of Ventura's Los Angeles residence with the hammer. Morgan described the scene as frantic and distressing, highlighting her concern for Ventura’s safety. “I didn’t think she cared if he came in and killed her,” Morgan stated, adding that the police arrived approximately three hours later, and a complaint was never formally filed.
The courtroom also heard of previous incidents of alleged violence involving Combs, including an alarming vacation in Jamaica where he reportedly pulled Ventura by her hair down a hotel hallway. Additionally, Morgan recounted her own harrowing experiences, claiming that Combs had choked her and hurled a wooden hanger at her head in 2018 over jealousy regarding Ventura.
After their toxic friendship ended, Morgan testified that about a month later, Ventura had offered her $30,000 to sign a non-disclosure agreement, a proposition Morgan accepted, signifying the end of a 17-year friendship. “I draw my line at physical abuse,” Morgan declared in her testimony.
Following Morgan’s testimony, David James, a former assistant to Combs, took the stand. He provided an insight into the work atmosphere around Combs and shared a conversation he overheard regarding Ventura, where Combs allegedly referred to her as “mouldable.” The trial is set to continue Tuesday, with James giving further testimony about his experiences working closely with Combs.
