Drag artist Bianca Castro-Arabejo, widely recognized as Jiggly Caliente, has sadly passed away at the age of 44, as confirmed by her family. The renowned performer gained prominence during the fourth season of RuPaul's Drag Race and later contributed her talent as a judge on Drag Race Philippines, in addition to acting in the beloved TV series Pose.
In a heartfelt statement shared on Instagram, her family expressed profound grief, stating, "It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Bianca Castro-Arabejo, known to the world and cherished by many as Jiggly Caliente." She died early Sunday morning, surrounded by her loved ones.
Caliente’s family highlighted her "infectious energy, fierce wit, and unwavering authenticity," asserting that she leaves behind a legacy filled with "love, courage, and light." They emphasized her impact on countless individuals through her artistry, activism, and meaningful connections with fans internationally.
Tributes from the drag community poured in, with Laganja Estranja describing Caliente as a "kind, caring soul," while UK Drag Race star Baga Chipz referred to her as "one of the kindest, sweetest souls I've ever met." Fellow contestant Cheryl The Queen shared her love, stating, "We will love you forever and always Jiggly."

Michelle Visage, a judge on Drag Race, praised her spirit, remarking, "the laughter was endless, our talks were special, your energy was contagious."
Born in the Philippines in 1980 and relocating to Queens, New York, as a child, Jiggly was celebrated on Drag Race for her humor and memorable moments, including the famous catchphrase born from a rivalry on the show, "this is not RuPaul's Best Friend Race," used by contestant Lashauwn Beyond.
Caliente continued to thrive in her acting career with guest spots in popular series such as Broad City and Search Party and took on the role of Veronica in Pose, reflecting the rich heritage of New York's LGBT ball culture in the late 20th century. Publicly coming out as transgender in 2016, she appeared on RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars in 2021, further solidifying her place in the drag universe, and spent three successful seasons as a judge for Drag Race Philippines.
In the days preceding her death, Caliente's family reported her serious health crisis, which resulted in the loss of "most of her right leg." The drag world mourns the loss of such a vibrant figure, whose artistic contributions and truths will remain etched in the community's heart.
